About the Project

High Bridge Herbs is a mutual aid project and herbal apothecary based in Bull Run, WV. Established in 2023, we create small-batch herbal products and direct all proceeds toward providing free, high-quality herbal care to unhoused folks, people who use drugs, immigrants, LGBTQIA+ folks, and other West Virginians facing systemic oppression.

Our work is guided by traditional Appalachian medicineways, a deep connection to the living land, the needs of our community, and current best practices in clinically informed integrative herbal medicine. Over the last two years, we've shared 600+ free salves and wound washes, built DIY tent heaters to keep our neighbors safe in winter, set up tea stations at local shelters, provided first aid supplies, stress aids, hydrosols, and educational handouts, and distributed harm reduction and reproductive supplies in collaboration with our outreach networks. Everything we do is shaped by the people we serve and grounded in the knowledge of Black and Indigenous herbalists who cared for this land long before we were here.

We envision a community where West Virginians are intimately connected to the natural world and empowered to care for their health in safe, cost-effective ways. Thank you for being here!
